Jason is a leading trial and appellate lawyer with a long track record of success. In Olson Grimsley’s first year alone, Jason tried two cases to judgment and argued a case in the United States Supreme Court.

Jason was a leading trial attorney in the Colorado ballot access case against Donald Trump (watch Jason’s presentation of Petitioner’s expert Gerard Magliocca and his cross-examination of Trump’s expert Robert Delahunty here), and presented arguments in the Colorado Supreme Court (watch here) which resulted in the Colorado Supreme Court declaring Mr. Trump ineligible to appear on the ballot under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment because he had engaged in an insurrection against the U.S. Constitution. Jason then argued that case in the United States Supreme Court (listen here). Jason also co-lead a trial team in Cook County, Illinois against two makers of Zantac—GSK and Boehringer Ingelheim—for causing his client’s prostate cancer, ultimately securing a settlement on confidential terms with GSK and trying the case against Boehringer Ingelheim to a hung jury after two prior trials had resulted in total defense verdicts (story here).

Before joining Olson Grimsley, Jason was a trial lawyer at Bartlit Beck LLP for 11 years where he was trusted by industry leaders in high-stakes cases. In recent years, Jason had served as co-lead trial counsel in a plaintiff-side commercial arbitration which resulted in total victory and a recovery in excess of $75 million, briefed and argued an appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit that successfully preserved key patent claims in a $100+ million patent case against the world’s largest automakers, briefed and argued an appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit that successfully defended the trial court’s dismissal of a 250-plaintiff mass tort case, served as trial counsel in a $1 billion+ antitrust case between U.S. Airways and Sabre, and secured dismissal on the pleadings of several commercial cases in which plaintiffs sought damages in the tens of millions of dollars.

Jason has received widespread recognition for his work. He has been honored from 2022 to 2024 as one of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Litigators in America and was recognized as a member of Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under List.”

Jason’s commitment to public service is exemplified by his pro bono work, which has included bringing a civil lawsuit on behalf of the family of a mentally ill inmate who died by suicide while in solitary confinement, serving as appellate counsel for the estate of an innocent victim of a fatal shooting during a SWAT raid, and trying a case in immigration court that resulted in asylum for a client who had been the victim of gender-based violence in Guatemala.

Jason clerked for Honorable Justice Elena Kagan of the U.S. Supreme Court and Honorable Neil Gorsuch of the Tenth Circuit. Jason graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2011, after earning a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Harvard University in 2008.
